  • The property is part of what was once a 60-acre tract, at least part of which has been in the Sides family since 1884, when the congregation of the United Brethren of Salem sold it to Samuel Albert Sides (1860-1951). Samuel and his wife, Lillian Gertrude Pope Sides (1867-1943), had 12 children over 26 years (10 sons and two daughters; both daughters and eight sons survived to adulthood).
