Lashmit, a partner in Northup & O’Brien of Winston-Salem, designed two of the city’s most famous houses, Graylyn for Bowman Gray and the Internationalist classic Merry Acres for R.J. Reynolds Jr. (Merry Acres was donated to Wake Forest University, which, incredibly, demolished it.).

418 Oaklawn is in Buena Vista. The property, almost a half acre, includes a terrace, patio, waterfall fishpond, tree house and potting shed. The house still has its slate roof and copper gutters. It’s on the market for the first time in 36 years.
